The Albrook School, founded in 1979, cultivates the full human potential of each child in a caring, peaceful environment. A private, non-profit Montessori school nestled on six and a half acres in a suburban area, the school enrolls approximately 275 children aged 2 to 12 years. Classrooms are staffed with Montessor-educated co-teachers supported by a Spanish teacher and a drama teacher who are also Montessori educated, plus an Orff music teacher, a physical education teacher, and a technology coordinator. The school offers an eight-week summer camp with an emphasis on nature. The school facility consists of three attached building wings. The original 19th-century building is home to toddler and preschool classes, a library, and a music room. A renovated building houses four preschool classes. A newer 15,000-square-foot elementary wing features a multi-purpose room with stage, sound, and lighting; a computer lab; and a reception room with an art gallery to display the work of visiting artists. There are two heated in-ground pools and extensive playgrounds. The school is accredited by AMS and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA).
