A Workshop to Train Evaluators of Teacher Education Programs

Both current classroom teachers and personnel from teacher education programs are needed to make on-site visits to teacher education programs seeking accreditation by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) and/or affiliation with AMS.  This session will examine the essential standards and criteria for accreditation and how these are documented in the Self-Study Report.  It will also review the roles and tasks of on-site evaluation team members.

Following the morning presentation by Claire Wurtzel, All Kinds of Minds session attendees may choose one interactive workshop in the afternoon. Each workshop will be limited to 50 participants.

Too many kids struggle and fail needlessly simply because the way in which they learn is incompatible with the way they’re being taught. It’s painful for the  student, teacher, and parent who may be unaware that the "wiring" of that child’s brain simply is not in synch with the demands and expectations of the way a lesson is being presented. Understanding the specific nature of the  learning breakdown is critical to creating the appropriate set of solutions to remedy or work around it.
