We recommend that you save an electronic version of these tips, or print them out and save a hard copy.

To join ListServer group
To get join, send an e-mail with the subject line:
JOIN heads@listserver.amshq.org to listserver@listserver.amshq.org. Do not write anything in the body of the e-mail. Please note, the e-mail must be sent from the address AMS has on file for you or access will not be allowed.

To send a message to everyone in the ListServer group
Write your e-mail and address it to: heads@listserver.amshq.org

Responding
By signing up with the ListServer, you are not obligated to respond to all messages, or to any message. However, if you would like to respond, you may respond either to the entire ListServer group, or to an individual.

To respond to the entire ListServer group
Hit reply, write your e-mail, and hit send.

To respond to an individual:
Write your e-mail and send it to the individual’s e-mail address only.

Meaningful subject lines
Often people will keep the same subject line when responding to an e-mail, even if their e-mail reflects a change of topic. We recommend that if you change the topic, you change the subject line. Using a subject line that is relevant and clear help others decide which e-mails they would like to open, and which they would like to delete unread.

To unsubscribe from the ListServer
Send an e-mail to: listserver@listserver.amshq.org
Subject: LEAVE heads@listserver.amshq.org
Body: blank

If you plan on being gone for more than a week and will be unable to check your e-mail, you might want to unsubscribe from the ListServer so that you don’t have an overload of unread e-mails waiting for you. You can always re-join when you return.
