AMS 2009 Peace and Social Justice
Retreat
March 1 - 4, 2009
Carmelite Spirituality Center (Lacombe, LA)
“The Journey from
Trauma to Triumph”
Registration Form
The retreat will be held immediately following the AMS 2009 Annual
Conference (February 26 - March 1) in New Orleans, LA, at the Carmelite
Spirituality Center in nearby Lacombe. Led by Dr.
Betsy Coe, Patti Yonka, and Sonnie
McFarland, participants will explore the internal
processes of rebuilding homes, schools, and lives in the aftermath
of trauma; and the growth and strength that leads to triumph of
the human spirit. Attendance at the annual
conference is not a requirement for attendance at the retreat;
all are warmly welcome.
The Carmelite Spirituality Center, located on the north shore
of Lake Pontchartrain (40 miles from New Orleans), offers a tranquil
setting for individuals of all faiths to leave behind everyday
worries and "come aside and rest awhile . . . . Year-round
flowers and star-filled night skies provide a serene setting for
reflection, solitude, celebration, and leisure, helping to create
a sense of community among those who visit.”
We hope you will join us.
