"Montessori: Unity in Diversity"
AMS 2014 Annual Conference
March 27 – 30
Diversity lies at the heart of Montessori. After all, it was in working with children considered “defective” that Dr. Maria Montessori began to develop her revolutionary theories about education. All children, she discovered, can learn and thrive in a properly prepared learning environment. “The needs of mankind are universal,” she wrote. “Our means of meeting them create the richness and diversity of the planet.”
Join us at the AMS 2014 Annual Conference as we gather to foster the unity and harmony of our diverse global community. Bringing together the many elements that create the noble melody of Montessori—from our members’ varied ethnicities, cultures, family structures, and socio-economic backgrounds to our different abilities and learning styles, and more—we’ll celebrate the beauty and depth of our diversity.
Discussing an inspiring range of topics, we’ll reinvigorate our Montessori tradition of promoting diversity of thought and a passionate consideration for choice within a community of trust. And continuing the exciting evolution of Montessori education, we’ll introduce and stimulate fresh, innovative ideas and perspectives in students, teachers, administrators, teacher educators, families, and the public alike.
We’re touching down in Dallas, Texas, where the landscape is vast and dreams have always been big. Our highest dream is that the unity and inclusiveness we achieve in our community will guide us toward strengthening and expanding the Montessori Movement for all children. We hope you’ll be a part of it! Come share the joy of shaping our strategy for innovation across all boundaries of educational programs, culture, and geography.
